Well well well, look what we have here…seems like the shoe is on the other foot now, isn’t it?

Dexter Lawrence, superstar defensive tackle for the New York Giants, has reportedly demanded a trade from the team following two straight offseasons of failed contract renegotiations, according to several reports in the media.

Lawrence and his team are reportedly trying to renegotiate a new deal that would see the stud tackle more fairly compensated for his performance. Lawrence, who is only 28 and has made three pro bowls, has two years left on his deal and is slated to make $20 million. He’s been named as a second-team all pro twice since being drafted in 2019 by the Giants with the number 17 pick and has racked up 30.5 sacks so far in his career.

Tensions have risen between Lawrence and the Giants over the last two years. Unlike the Eagles and their relationship with AJ Brown, Lawrence seems to have just one thing on his mind to continue with New York….reportedly wanting more money in his current deal. He’s even gone so far as to say he will NOT be attending the team’s offseason workout program unless he gets a new deal.

HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?! At least Howie Roseman rewards performance with financial compensation, unlike the cheapskate Giants and their GM Joe Schoen. Doesn’t feel too good does it, Giants fans?

It’s highly unlikely the Lawrence vs. Giants saga will receive the same level of media attention as Brown vs. the Eagles, because of course it won’t. Doubtful we’ll see too many think pieces on why Lawrence is unhappy and what his relationship is like with defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson from people such as Dianna Russini or Chase Daniel. It doesn’t have the same juice.

He wants money, the Giants don’t want to give him more money, and that’s it. Just doesn’t have the same media angles. Now, if they can work Brown into the story somehow, then it will have legs. Look for more than a few think pieces about how the Eagles and Giants should work out a deal to swap their disgruntled stars to come out in the near future.

Either way, suck it Giants fans. Let them know how you feel, Nelson.
