Bryce Harper Brewing a Delicious and Aromatic Cup of “Accountability Coffee”
Bryce Harper took some heat when he was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double this past Sunday. Rob Thomson didn’t have much to say about it, explaining that Harper “knows” what he did wrong, which kicked up the classic hornet’s nest of “accountability” talk with the Phillies.
Every year, right around this time, somebody does something dumb and then a portion of fans and media complain that there’s not enough ACCOUNTABILITY coming from the manager and team and front office.
Then Bryce popped up Tuesday with a new TikTok in which he put “Accountability Coffee” in the caption:

Hey now! You have to appreciate a good troll.
Anyway, it’s way too early to talk about “accountability” with this team. It always is, actually. They don’t have an “accountability” problem in the playoffs, they have a problem not hitting the baseball, and/or swinging at shit that’s low and outside. What would more “accountability” have done last season, anyway? They won 96 games and were right there with the Dodgers, who just made more plays than they did. Orion Kerkering goofed and Matt Strahm couldn’t hold the lead in Game 1. But Topper has managed this team to increasing win totals every season he’s been here, so what would you have him do differently? Bench Harper? Bryce went 1-3 in the very next game, walked, and scored two runs. He’s slashing .276/.382/.517 and has a .900 OPS. He’s a veteran with a seven-game hit streak. We’re wasting our time talking about “accountability” in April.
