David Yadgaroff Retiring After More than 30 Years in Philadelphia Radio

Barrett Sports Media reported on Monday that longtime Philadelphia radio executive David Yadgaroff is leaving Audacy in May:

Audacy will soon begin a leadership transition in one of its most prominent markets, as longtime Philadelphia market manager David Yadgaroff prepares to step away following a decades-long run with the company.

In an internal message to executives, market managers, and the Philadelphia team, Audacy Regional President Mark Hannon announced Yadgaroff will retire as senior vice president and market manager of Audacy Philadelphia at the end of May. Thus concluding a 36-year career that has spanned programming, promotions and executive leadership responsibilities.

Yadgaroff oversaw the operations of 94 WIP, KYW, 1210 WPHT, B101, WOGL, etc – basically the entire Philadelphia cluster of radio stations. He held this Senior Vice President/Market Manager Job for more than ten years, going back to CBS Radio in 2015 and then through the Entercom purchase and Audacy rebrand. Prior, he was the Vice President and General Sales Manager for KYW Newsradio from 2003 to 2015 and came through as a sales manager for both KYW and 102.9 WMGK, which was owned by Greater Media at the time.

A statement from Yadgaroff:

Our team has consistently delivered unique, compelling content, embraced meaningful evolution, and made a real difference for our communities, our advertisers and one another. I am incredibly proud of the people in the Philadelphia radio market and across the country, whom I’ve had the opportunity to hire, train and mentor. Watching their growth and success has been a joy. After an extraordinary run of dedicating myself to radio and my colleagues for decades, it feels like the right time to step away and take time for myself, spend more time with family and friends, pursue new opportunities and contribute to organizations in meaningful new ways. I leave with deep gratitude and confidence in the future.”

It’s also worth mentioning that Audacy did some organizational restructuring over the winter.

The change, which begins this week, replaces local market silos with centralized format leadership spanning news, sports, country, alternative, and other core brands. Audacy CEO Kelli Turner says the goal is to align programming expertise across markets while allowing local management to concentrate on revenue and operations.

Under the new structure, Brand Managers will report directly to Format Vice Presidents instead of local market leaders. Audacy executives say the move expands access to shared resources, tightens format execution, and removes programming oversight from market presidents’ day-to-day responsibilities.

Basic consolidation from company that exited bankruptcy at the end of 2024 as a private company. That saw the departure of CEO David Field, who was replaced on an interim basis by Kelli Turner, who was a board member at the time. She was appointed permanent President and CEO in March of 2025 while a handful of senior executives left the company at the same time.
