Yeah, the Phillies Were Swept at Home by the Braves, but Did You See the Guy Wearing the “CRANKIN HOG 69” Jersey?
The Phillies were swept by the Braves at Citizens Bank Park this weekend. They are 8-13 and need to get it together sooner rather than later, because while it’s April 20th, they’re already 6.5 games back and only the pitiful Mets are keeping them out of the NL East basement. They say that you can’t win the division in April, but you can certainly get a head start on losing it.
More importantly, shout out to Jimmy on Instagram for spotting this beautiful jersey during Sunday’s broadcast and sending over a pic:

CRANKIN HOG 69
lol
Jimmy says this was after the early Schwarbomb, which, of course, was the only time the Phillies scored runs on Sunday. They only score in one inning per game, and if they do down by 1-2 runs you know it’s an insurmountable deficit. When the Braves took a 4-2 lead in the fifth inning, you knew it was over. They weren’t coming back, no way. The middle of the order went 0-10 with four strikeouts and just one walk, while Bryson Stott has battled to crest the Mendoza line and Rafael Marchan logs a cool .037 batting average.
Gotta meet this guy though, CRANKIN HOG 69. He appears to have a mullet and was wearing a blue and white headband. Kind of looks like John Kruk from behind, but Krukker was wearing a suit for the national broadcast on Sunday:
